WhisperBrain is built around a simple boundary: audio and voiceprints stay on your Mac. This policy explains what the app collects, what can optionally leave the machine, and where your notes live.

1. What WhisperBrain does

WhisperBrain is a macOS meeting notetaker. It detects calls, records audio already playing through your Mac, transcribes the conversation, identifies speakers, and writes structured notes and decisions into your chosen Obsidian vault.

2. Audio and voiceprints

Meeting audio and locally created voiceprints are processed and stored on your Mac. They are not uploaded by WhisperBrain on any plan. You are responsible for following the recording and consent laws that apply to your meeting.

3. Optional cloud processing

If you enable a cloud plan or cloud inference feature, transcript text may be sent to the selected inference provider to generate summaries, action items, or decision extraction. Audio and voiceprints are not sent for this purpose.

4. Notes and your Obsidian vault

WhisperBrain writes Markdown files to the vault and folder structure you choose. Those files remain on your storage and remain readable if you stop using WhisperBrain. We do not claim ownership of your notes or meeting content.

5. Account and payment information

Cloud plans may require an account and payment details. Payment information is handled by our payment processor; WhisperBrain does not need to store your full card number. We may retain account, plan, usage, and support information needed to operate the service.

6. Retention and deletion

Local recordings, voiceprints, and notes are controlled by you on your Mac and in your vault. Cloud transcript-derived data is retained only as needed to provide the selected service, maintain account records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Contact us to request account deletion or ask a data question.
